Colleagues of the firefighters killed in the road accident have demanded an inspection of fire station No. 9 in Kurchatov.

Two firefighters from fire station No. 9 (FS-9) in the city of Kurchatov, Arnur Adkenov and Yermek Sydykov, died in a road traffic accident (RTA) on the Semey–Kurchatov highway while travelling to their place of duty after an alarm was raised. Following the tragedy, their colleagues stated that there is a need to review the conditions under which the service is organised and the requirements for personnel to report for duty.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs has proposed easing the punishment for drug possession in Kazakhstan.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan has proposed moving some offences related to the acquisition, storage and transportation of drugs without intent to sell from the criminal to the administrative sphere. At the same time, criminal liability for drug-related activities involving large and especially large quantities, as well as for drug trafficking, will be retained.

According to FBKK sources, searches were conducted on 26 August at the home of Gani Salmayev, deputy chairman of the committee for road transport and transport control of the Ministry of Transport. According to preliminary data, Salmayev is charged under Articles 361 and 366 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Fight between coaches at the Asian Rowing Championships in Turkestan caught on video

At the Asian Rowing Championships in Turkestan, a conflict occurred between Timur Alikhanov, a coach at the Turkestan Regional Specialised Youth Sports School of the Olympic Reserve, and Daulet Sultanbekov, a state coach of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The FBK editorial office has received reports from residents of the Aktobe region concerned about the condition of the Ilek River. According to them, new quarries for the extraction of sand and sand-and-gravel mixtures are actively appearing along the floodplain. People fear that interference with the riverbed and floodplain system could have consequences not only for the ecology but also for the region's water supply.

The Ministry of Ecology stated that CCTV cameras to combat illegal dumping have been deemed "impractical", as waste is supposedly stored outside populated areas. Users are reporting a lack of verification during platform registration and the public disclosure of personal data in an open chat. The editorial board of the FBRE has decided to look into all the shortcomings of the system.
