President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, at a meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the CIS participating countries in Turkmenistan, proposed developing a Strategy for the Development of the Commonwealth up to 2035. Among other initiatives are the formation of a portfolio of joint industrial and technological projects for 2027–2030, the expansion of co-operation in the field of artificial intelligence and the creation of a common digital library of literature of the peoples of the CIS.

The Maslikhat of the West Kazakhstan Region (WKR) approved the allocation of 300 million tenge to pay off the accounts payable of the regional multi-specialty hospital to a supplier of medical devices. At the same time, the institution's total debt has reached 2 billion tenge, and the decision raised questions among some deputies because of the legal grounds for the payment and the hospital's financial management.

During a prosecutor's inspection at one of the penal enforcement system (PES) institutions in Pavlodar, items prohibited for convicts were discovered. A pre-trial investigation has been launched into the incident.

The directors of ZhAN-AMI i K LLP in Aktobe were convicted of processing more than 1,400 tonnes of hazardous oil waste without a state licence. The enterprise earned 393 million tenge from this activity, which the court ordered to be recovered as state revenue.

The companies Capital City Center and International Business Center, linked through their founder to the spouse of Hungary's honorary consul Jambulat Sarsenov, received state contracts worth hundreds of millions of tenge in 2026. The Petropavlovsk Botanical Garden has encountered disagreements over an administrative and amenity building and funding problems ahead of the winter season. The head of the complex, Artur Ryazapov, is concerned about the working conditions of the team and the preservation of the plants. According to the akimat, 170.3 million tenge has already been transferred to the owner of the building, but the re-registration of the property has not been completed.

A court in Turkestan found former deputy akim of the Sairam district Shukhratulla Ubaidullayev and head of the land relations department Amangeldy Zhunisbekov guilty of giving and receiving bribes. They were fined 56.25 million tenge and 74.6 million tenge respectively, and were also banned from holding positions in the civil service for life.

In the Mangystau Region, Eco-Mangistau LLP was fined 1.73 million tenge for violations of the rules on handling industrial waste and the requirements of environmental legislation. An inspection revealed the burial underground of 17,694.32 tonnes of unprocessed waste, disturbance of the soil layer and construction work carried out without the necessary environmental permits.

Two residents of Shymkent have been sentenced to four years' imprisonment for organising an illegal gambling business through the online platforms Bingo-37 and Lotoboom. The total turnover of the two online casinos amounted to 3.1 billion tenge

One of three Kazakh citizens who were believed missing after the natural disaster in Nepal and Tibet has been found in Kazakhstan. The woman cancelled her trip to the disaster area and was not in the flood zone. The whereabouts of the two other Kazakh women are still unknown.
