Meat production in Tajikistan has risen amid an increase in cattle mortality in Kazakhstan

In January–May 2026, Tajikistan produced 85,822 tonnes of meat from large and small livestock, which is 13.4% more compared to the same period in 2025. Meanwhile, in Kazakhstan over the same period, cattle mortality increased by 18.9%, whereas herd size grew by 3.9%.

The Ministry of Agriculture stated that there are no risks of a shortage of fuel for farmers.

Ministry of Agriculture (MoA) has stated that it does not expect a shortage of fuels and lubricants (F&L) for carrying out major agrotechnical works, despite reports of a fuel deficit in neighbouring Russia.
