Information circulating on social media claiming that the registration of driving schools, the logging of training groups, and the administration of driving licence exams are being transferred to private organisations does not correspond to reality. These functions remain state responsibilities.
WHAT IS KNOWN ABOUT THE CIRCULATING INFORMATION
According to the Centre for Combating Disinformation, messages have appeared on social media alleging that a number of functions related to training at driving schools and obtaining the right to drive vehicles have supposedly been transferred to private organisations.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) informed the Centre that the transfer of the function of administering driving licence exams to private organisations is not being considered.
WHO WILL CONTINUE TO KEEP THE REGISTER OF DRIVING SCHOOLS
The registration of driving schools and the logging of training groups also remain state functions.
According to Article 77 of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan (“On Road Traffic”), these functions are carried out through the state information system “Auto School”, which is maintained on the balance sheet of the MIA.
WHAT THE CENTRE FOR COMBATING DISINFORMATION SAID
The Centre urged citizens to rely on official information and not to spread unconfirmed reports that could mislead people.
