The annual KompraConf conference took place in Astana. 2026: Governance. Risk. Compliance. The key theme was the shift in business from reacting to risks that have already arisen to identifying them early using data, automation and artificial intelligence.

Researchers have identified five areas requiring particular attention: cybersecurity, democratic stability, AI behaviour diverging from human intent, loss of effective human control, and chemical and biological threats.

The prosecutor's office of the city of Atyrau removed a land barrier that was hindering the implementation of an investment project by SapaStone LLP worth around 5 billion tenge. The project provides for the construction of a brick factory and the creation of more than 65 jobs.

According to preliminary information, 19 servicemen were carried out to sea, of whom 9 died.
