In Kazakhstan, payment rules for travelling on toll roads have been changed. The Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan has increased the voluntary payment period for individuals from 7 to 30 days. The new rules provide for a separate payment procedure for legal entities and will come into force 10 days after official publication.

Father and son were detained in connection with a drug laboratory case in the Akmola Region.

In the Akmola region, officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs have shut down an underground laboratory producing synthetic drugs. During the special operation, a 54-year-old man and his 26-year-old son were detained. 200 kg of mephedrone, more than 2 tonnes of precursors, as well as laboratory equipment, were seized from illegal circulation.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan has sent 51 stalking cases to court.

In Kazakhstan, 51 cases have been sent to court since criminal liability for stalking was introduced. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, in 36 cases the suspects were placed in temporary detention facilities. The investigation is being conducted under Article 115-1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which provides for liability for unlawful persecution.

A foreigner has been acquitted in a fatal road traffic accident case in Aktobe

The specialised inter-district criminal court of Aktobe region has acquitted a 33-year-old Kyrgyz citizen, Ramazan Infurov, in the case of a road traffic accident on the Samara – Shymkent highway, in which four people died. The jury concluded that there was no element of a criminal offence. The court also recognised the defendant’s right to compensation for harm caused by unlawful criminal prosecution.

Orthodox cemetery in Uralsk put up for auction

President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev signed a Decree establishing an Interdepartmental Commission for Crime Prevention under the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The Commission will coordinate the work of state bodies in the field of crime prevention.

The Ministry of Agriculture plans to open beef exports for small farms

A married couple from the Almaty region have secured the partial lifting of a freeze on property and bank accounts, imposed by a private bailiff as part of proceedings to recover 26 million tenge in debt. The court emphasised that enforcement measures must be proportionate to the amount claimed and must not exceed the limits set by the court.
