In the Merkensky district of the Zhambyl region, a 19-year-old citizen of Uzbekistan, Madina Rashidkyzy, has died. The police have launched a pre-trial investigation into the fact of incitement to suicide. The deceased leaves behind an eight-month-old child.
WHAT HAPPENED
According to the girl's friend, Zeinep Musakhozhdanova, writing on Threads, shortly before her death Madina reported a conflict with her husband. According to her, one of the arguments was caused by a “Barney” chocolate sponge cake that her husband had bought for the child. Madina ate one bar, after which, she claimed in messages, her husband hit her.
The friend also stated that Madina had previously spoken of physical abuse and that she herself had seen bruises on her. At the same time, she did not personally witness the latest conflict. This information is based on the friend's account and the correspondence, and must be verified by the investigation.
According to Zeinep, the day after the conflict Madina said she had packed her bags and wanted a divorce. She also asked her friend for 15,000 tenge.
Zeinep said she was unable to find the money quickly. Later, Madina's mother-in-law informed her of Madina's death.
WHAT IS KNOWN ABOUT THE FUNERAL
According to posts on social media, Madina's friend Zeinep Musakhozhdanova was with her family during the funeral. Following the posts about the tragedy, Zeinep faced criticism online. It is also reported that she is helping the family, sharing information about what happened, and supporting the deceased's mother.
The posts also noted the poor condition of Madina's mother and of the eight-month-old child, who has been left without a mother.
It is noted that no relatives from Madina's husband's side attended the funeral.
WHAT THE POLICE HAVE SAID
According to the police department of the Zhambyl region, the investigation is establishing all the circumstances of the incident. The police have not disclosed further details, citing Article 201 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The police are investigating the case specifically on the grounds of incitement to suicide and are carrying out investigative actions to establish all the circumstances of what happened.
It is not known what exactly caused the woman's death, nor whether the information about the alleged abuse by her husband has been confirmed by the investigation. A possible link between the family conflict and the tragedy has also not been officially confirmed.
