A house in Shymkent, linked to the former owner of the Shymkent Brewery, Tokhtar Tuleshov, has been put up for auction with a starting price of 240.2 million tenge. The auction is scheduled for 27 August 2026.

WHAT HAS BEEN PUT UP FOR AUCTION

According to the E-qazyna platform, the property is located on Zheltoksan Street in the Al-Farabi district of Shymkent. The lot includes several buildings with a total area of 314.5 square metres and a land plot of 0.0644 hectares.

The main two-storey house covers 191.8 square metres, with another residential building of 73.6 square metres. The lot also includes an extension of 35 square metres, a basement of 34.6 square metres and a shed of 14.1 square metres.

The guarantee deposit has been set at 12 million tenge. Since the auction is a downward auction, the price of the property may fall to a minimum of 40 million tenge.

WHY THE PRICE DIFFERS FROM THE VALUATION

According to Kursiv, based on a report by S&T Capital dated 12 June 2026, the appraised value of the property is 80.1 million tenge. Thus, the starting auction price of 240.2 million tenge is nearly three times higher than the valuation stated in the report.

The seller and balance holder of the property is listed as Darkhan Group.

HOW THE PROPERTY IS LINKED TO TOKHTAR TULESHOV

From 2015 to 2021, Darkhan Group belonged to Tokhtar Tuleshov. Since 2014, the owner of the company has been listed as Nurgali Dosanbayev, and since 2021, the Committee of State Property and Privatisation of the Ministry of Finance has appeared in its capital.

Tokhtar Tuleshov was the owner of the Shymkent Brewery. On 30 January 2016, he was detained during a special operation in Shymkent. In the same year, the Specialised Inter-District Military Court sentenced him to 21 years in prison with confiscation of property.

In 2017, the court also found Tuleshov guilty of tax evasion and sentenced him to a further 5 years in prison. In addition, he was ordered to pay the state more than 1.4 billion tenge.

Currently, Tuleshov's defence is seeking a reclassification of his charges. Lawyer Ydyrys Abishev has filed a motion with the court to apply retroactive effect of the criminal law.
