In May 2026, the Border Service of the Committee for National Security (BS CNS) together with competent authorities detained 3,881 violators of the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the border area. Additionally, 1,180 cases of illegal movement of goods and cargo across the state border were prevented.

In the Turkestan region, a dispute continues over well TP-32 in the village of Derbisek, Saryagash district of the Turkestan region, where the interests of local authorities and the mineral water producer, Rauan LLP, have come into conflict.
