In Shymkent, 11,850 hen eggs without labelling or accompanying documents were identified and seized. Laboratory tests showed that the product did not meet safety requirements, after which the entire batch was destroyed.
HOW THE PRODUCT WAS FOUND
According to the Ministry of Trade and Integration, the violations were discovered at the «Zhibek Zholy» market. The inspection was carried out by staff from the Veterinary Control Committee, the Department of Trade and Consumer Protection, and the Poultry Farmers' Union of Kazakhstan.
During the raid, specialists found 11,850 hen eggs of Russian origin, which were being sold without labelling or the necessary documents.
WHAT THE TESTS SHOWED
Laboratory tests established that the product did not meet safety requirements or the legislation of Kazakhstan.
After the results were received, the entire batch was destroyed in the presence of a commission.
WHAT MEASURES WERE TAKEN
Administrative offence cases have been opened against those responsible. The materials have been forwarded to the relevant authorities.
Since 17 April 2026, a temporary ban on the import of hen eggs has been in effect in Kazakhstan. This measure was introduced to prevent grey imports, dumping, and to maintain stable prices on the domestic market.
