A teacher with 24 years of experience, Kh. Yerimbetov, inflicted a stab wound to his abdomen in the building of a district court in the Turkistan Region. This occurred after a court ruling holding him accountable for contempt of court.
HOW THE SITUATION UNFOLDED
According to the Telegram channel «HALYQSTAN», Kh. Yerimbetov was dismissed in January 2026. The teacher claimed his labour rights had been violated and filed a complaint with the labour inspection department of the Turkistan Region.
The inspection deemed the dismissal unlawful. However, despite the inspectorate's order, the teacher was not reinstated in his position.
WHY THE TEACHER TURNED TO THE COURT
Following this, Kh. Yerimbetov filed a lawsuit in the district court of the Ordabasy District.
It is known that on 3 June, the court issued a ruling holding the teacher accountable for contempt of court. The penalty imposed was an administrative arrest for a period of five days.
After the ruling was issued, Kh. Yerimbetov inflicted a stab wound to his abdomen.
WHAT IS KNOWN ABOUT THE DISPUTE OVER THE DISMISSAL
The inspection by the labour inspection department of the Turkistan Region deemed the dismissal unlawful. However, the teacher was not reinstated at work, despite the existence of a relevant order.
