The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD) has reported the results of its anti-corruption work for the first half of 2026. According to the department, 234 internal affairs officers failed the integrity check, and 302 employees were dismissed over the six-month period. At the same time, the MVD stated that a number of disciplinary offences had decreased, while the number of reports of attempted bribery had increased.

The General Prosecutor's Office has secured the quashing of an unlawful amnesty in a case concerning the embezzlement of budgetary funds.

The cassation court overturned the application of amnesty for the convicted person in the case of embezzlement of budget funds in the Atyrau region and reinstated the original sentence of 7 years' imprisonment. Previously, the court of first instance had reduced the sentence after applying amnesty.

The Government of Kazakhstan has approved a Comprehensive Plan for the Development of Veterinary Medicine for 2026–2030. The document envisages a 1.5 to 2.5-fold increase in veterinary salaries, an 80% upgrade to the material and technical base, and large-scale digitalisation of the sector. At the same time, systemic problems in veterinary medicine — staff shortages, disease outbreaks, and corruption — have not gone away.
