The Financial Monitoring Agency, together with the General Prosecutor’s Office and specialists from Tele2, has shut down the activities of a group suspected of mass phishing SMS campaigns using an SMS blaster. The device mimicked mobile base stations and allowed the group to bypass operators’ security, directing users to fake websites to collect personal and banking details. Four suspects have been detained, and the investigation is ongoing.

The former head of a colony in North Kazakhstan Region has been fined for attempted fraud.

A court in the North Kazakhstan Region has found former colony settlement head Rustem Rakhmetov guilty of fraud and incitement to bribery. According to the investigation, he offered a convicted person assistance in getting a lighter sentence in exchange for money, without having the ability to influence the court's decision. He was fined 3 million tenge and given a lifetime ban from civil service; the verdict has not yet entered into legal force.

A fire occurred in the building of the regional akimat in Aktobe

Participants' funds were converted into cryptocurrency and sent to anonymous wallets. The court authorised the seizure of assets worth approximately $1.06 million (1,057,599 USDT). The case has been referred to court.
