Russia may halt the transit of Kazakh oil to Germany

Russia from 1 May ceases the transit of Kazakh oil to Germany via the Druzhba pipeline. Kazakhstan has received written notification from the company Transneft. The route was used for supplying raw materials to the refinery in Schwedt, and in the first quarter of 2026, exports along this direction increased to 730,000 tonnes. The reasons for the halt and the timeline for a possible resumption of supplies have not been specified.

On 30 January, Majilis deputy Samat Nurtaza published a photo on Threads with colleagues to mark the 30th anniversary of Kazakhstan's parliament. A discussion about the work of deputies arose beneath the post. In response to criticism from citizens, Nurtaza used blunt language, which provoked a negative reaction from users. The post was later deleted. The deputy has held his position since March 2023.
