In Atyrau, a literary and musical event titled "Abai's Legacy – a National Treasure" took place, bringing together residents of the region and guests of the city in honour of the poet, thinker and educator Abai Kunanbayev. The evening combined a theatrical performance, a ceremonial part and a concert programme, demonstrating how the poet's legacy is being reinterpreted in modern society.

LLP "Company Energodor" has received a new contract worth 6 billion tenge for roads in Astana

LLP «Energodor Company» has been awarded a contract worth 6 billion 34 million tenge for medium-scale repairs to roads and transport infrastructure in Astana in 2026–2027. Gas Processing Company, linked to Kairat Sharipbayev's structures, is contesting in court an order to pay 1 billion 19 million 502 thousand 993 tenge to 280 workers. The oil workers claim that since 2019 they have not received the full payments provided for by law, and have appealed to President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev with a request to audit the enterprise.

The Atyrau Regional Court has passed a sentence in the case of fraud during the reconstruction of the “Astrakhan – Mangyshlak” main water pipeline. Five defendants have been sentenced to between 5 and 6 years and 8 months’ imprisonment.

The Financial Monitoring Agency (FMA) has prepared new rules for escorting detainees and persons held in custody. The draft provides for continuous video recording of transportation, GPS control of special vehicles, a ban on the use of personal phones by escorts, and three levels of convoy.

In the Almaty region, after nearly two decades, an investigation has been reopened into the murder of a woman committed in 2006 in Almaty. The case files were reviewed by prosecutors Aida Imanaliyeva and Aliya Sarsekeyeva, after which the investigation identified a third participant in the crime. The court found Asset Kurneev guilty and sentenced him to 16 years in prison.

The court in Kostanay has ordered the Ministry of Sports to pay bonuses to athletes

The specialised inter-district administrative court of Kostanay Region ruled that the refusal of the Ministry of Tourism and Sport of the Republic of Kazakhstan to pay cash bonuses to athletes Anatoly Veklich and Murat Kintonov for their prize-winning places at the World Sambo and Judo Championships in 2016–2018 was unlawful. The court ordered the department to make the payments in accordance with the procedure prescribed by law.

The court sentenced them to 7 years' imprisonment for drug offences in the Burabay district.

Burabay District Court has examined two criminal cases against two 18-year-old citizens accused of the illegal possession and transport of psychotropic substances with intent to sell. The court found them guilty and sentenced each to 7 years' imprisonment. They will serve their sentences in a medium-security facility.

Activists are demanding transparency regarding the environmental conditions of oil contracts and international monitoring of the sea's condition. The movement's petition has been supported by more than 50,000 people.
