Information has been circulating online that officers of the National Security Committee of the Zhambyl Region have detained the deputy head of the regional department of justice, Bauyrzhan Shamgunov.

Altai Ali has left his post as chair of the committee for road transport and transport control of the ministry of industry and infrastructure development. His departure followed amid high-profile accusations of corruption and lobbying. Despite the scandal, the official received a new appointment — he became deputy akim of Zhambyl region for construction and housing and communal services.

The late Bolat Nazarbayev's eldest son has found himself at the centre of a property scandal: a notice of bankruptcy proceedings against Nurlbol Nazarbayev has appeared in public registers. It is reported that he has been listed as a debtor since 15 September, with total liabilities amounting to 57.9 billion tenge. His accounts and property have been seized, and his shares in companies have been encumbered. He has also been banned from leaving the country.

The Pavlodar Regional Prosecutor's Office has identified mineral extraction in the region without permit documents.

In Oskemen, Vilori Pan, a prosecutor from the city prosecutor's office, was dismissed after committing an administrative offence related to driving under the influence of alcohol.
