In Ust-Kamenogorsk, a prosecutor from the city prosecutor's office, Vilori Pan, was dismissed after committing an administrative offence related to drink-driving.

According to Zakon.kz, information previously appeared on social media that Pan, while driving a car, crashed into a lamppost and tried to flee from the police. The posts also claimed that tests revealed traces of alcohol and cannabis in his blood.

This information was not officially confirmed, however the press service of the East Kazakhstan Region Prosecutor's Office stated that "for committing an offence discrediting the law enforcement agency, the prosecutor of the Ust-Kamenogorsk city prosecutor's office, Pan V. Ultimately, the Specialised Court for Administrative Offences found the prosecutor guilty under Part 3 of Article 608 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Republic of Kazakhstan ("Driving a vehicle by a driver under the influence of alcohol").

He was sentenced to an administrative arrest of 20 days and banned from driving vehicles for 7 years.

Earlier, information spread on social media that the prosecutor of Ust-Kamenogorsk, Timur Chakpantayev, was suspected of assaulting his subordinates Yarkov and Merenbayev.

It was reported that the prosecutor was under the influence of alcohol, called his colleagues to his office, and assaulted them. Furthermore, it is alleged that he raised the alarm for staff without justification at two o'clock in the morning.
