The director and accountant of a school in Shymkent have been sentenced to 8 years each for embezzling 70 million tenge.

In the inter-district criminal court of Shymkent, a verdict has been handed down to the former director of secondary school No. 133, Assel Baidossova, and the chief accountant of the same institution, Ulan Dadabekov. They were found guilty of embezzling budget funds and accepting bribes.

The editorial team of the FBRK conducted a large-scale investigation into the condition of the Astana (Vyacheslav) reservoir and the Ishim River — key sources of water supply for the capital and surrounding regions. Over several months, we have been studying the situation systematically. Now it is time to summarise and present a comprehensive picture of what is happening.

Over the past three years, the territorial departments of the Agency for Financial Monitoring (AFM) have investigated 88 criminal cases related to the illegal registration of over 1,800 vehicles, evading payment of the primary registration fee in the amount of 11.8 billion tenge.
