In 2021, the prosecutor's office of the Akmola Region uncovered a large-scale scheme involving the misappropriation of subsidised diesel fuel. The inspection documents, which have come into the possession of the FBIK, reveal for the first time the details of a system that turned the agricultural support programme into a tool for enriching a select few.
