The fraudster created the appearance of a successful entrepreneur. He drew up fictitious contracts, misleading clients about the possibility of purchasing flooring in Russia at favourable prices.

The editorial board of FBRK continues its series of materials dedicated to analysing the largest public procurement contracts of 2024 in the regions of Kazakhstan.

In the Ministry of Health, with the participation of the head of the department, Akmaral Alnazarova, and the chairman of the board of JSC Kazakhtelecom, Bagdat Mussin, digital solutions using artificial intelligence were discussed.

In the Akmola region, two government procurement contracts have appeared, totalling 41 million tenge, for work with "adherents of destructive religious movements". Both have such specific requirements that it feels as though the terms of reference were written for particular contractors. FBK has decided to investigate how the state spends money on the "spiritual re-education" of citizens and why this could lead to controversy.

The First Credit Bureau (FCB) issued a statement following the arrest of its general director, Ruslan Omarov, who is suspected of giving a large bribe. The organisation confirmed its cooperation with the Centre for Labour Resource Development (CLRD), but emphasised that the interaction is lawful and carried out in compliance with all regulations.
