Farmers in the Shardara district of the Turkestan region have reported a shortage of water for irrigating rice fields after the start of the growing season. The Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation stated that farms with officially signed contracts are receiving water in full. However, the ministry did not clarify the situation of those farmers who claim to have signed contracts but have been left without irrigation.

Entrepreneurs' access to commercial spaces in Kazakhstan's airports is now regulated by uniform tender conditions. Changes have been made to the rules governing commercial activities on airport premises following an instruction from the Supreme Audit Chamber (SAC).

Three residents of the Almaty region have been found guilty of abducting a 19-year-old woman from the Zhambyl region with the aim of forcing her into marriage. The court sentenced each of the convicted individuals to 3 years in prison.

President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a meeting with the leadership of the European Union (EU) in Brussels, following which the parties signed a joint statement and a number of agreements in the fields of transport, investment and critical raw materials. Negotiations on agreements on visa facilitation and readmission have also been concluded.
