Mother of the participant in the beating of a schoolgirl in Karaganda fined 45,000 tenge

The Juvenile Court of Karaganda has fined one of the 16-year-old participants' mothers 45,413 tenge for the beating of a 13-year-old schoolgirl. The incident occurred on 16 February when a group of teenagers attacked the girl and filmed the event on video. The woman was found guilty of failing to properly fulfil her duties in raising her child.

The ВАП has been granted the right to refuse to recognise audits from ministries in Kazakhstan.

The Supreme Audit Chamber of Kazakhstan has been granted the right to additionally inspect and, if necessary, refuse to recognise the results of internal audits of ministries. The new regulation strengthens external control over departmental checks and may change the procedure for using audit reports in the state financial control system.

The Committee for Veterinary Control and Supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture has declared epizootic statistics an "official secret", even though similar data is freely published by Kazakh scientists in international journals. Instead of protecting human and animal health, the "FOUO" classification increasingly resembles a convenient tool for concealing real problems in the veterinary system.

The rise in measles incidence among children has been recorded in the Zhambyl region.

Since the beginning of 2026, 191 cases of measles have been registered in the Zhambyl region. More than 80% of those infected are children under 14, with the vast majority of patients not having been vaccinated. The main outbreak of the disease occurred in the city of Taraz.

Hundreds of millions of tenge embezzled from medical insurance funds are being investigated in Astana

In Astana, a pre-trial investigation is being conducted into the director of two private clinics over the possible illegal receipt of funds from the Social Health Insurance Fund. According to the investigation, information was entered into the system about patients who did not actually receive medical services. The suspect has been placed in custody, and his property has been seized.

The Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the Regulation and Development of the Financial Market has stated that the participation of artificial intelligence on the board of directors of the Samruk-Kazyna fund does not comply with the legislation on joint-stock companies. The regulator pointed out that only a natural person can be a member of the board of directors. This position was set out in an official response to a request from the QAMS Association of Minority Shareholders.

At a meeting of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of Kazakhstan, Vice-Minister of Trade and Integration Aidar Abildabekov was unable to answer a number of questions from deputies during discussions on a bill to ratify an agreement within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). He asked permission to provide answers later in writing. The Speaker of the Mazhilis, Yerlan Koshanov, publicly pointed out that such a situation was unacceptable.
