Kazatomprom has stated that it does not have, and never has had, any business relationship with Laramide Resources Ltd and Aral Resources Ltd, around which uranium exploration in Kazakhstan has been discussed. The national operator emphasised that it is not involved in the mentioned projects, and that Aral Resources' licences did not provide for exclusive rights to uranium.

The National Security Committee confirmed to journalists the fact of a pre-trial investigation into the chairman of the Kazalinsky District Court of the Kyzylorda Region, Dauren Abdykalykov. The criminal case is being conducted based on materials related to a possible corruption offence. Details of the investigation are not disclosed by the department.

Residents of the village of Zharkyn in the Abai region have faced the impossibility of registering and selling property due to the territory's undefined administrative status. According to the villagers, their settlement belonged neither to the city of Semey nor to the Zhanasemey district. Authorities stated that the village is part of the city, but the status issue is still being considered.

The Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan is preparing a new order on road construction in small villages. Instead of asphalt, priority will be given to gravel surfacing as it is more affordable and easier to maintain. The department believes that this will ensure access to all populated areas.
