Vice-Minister of Agriculture Azat Sultanov has commented on the situation regarding the deaths of saiga antelopes and livestock in the West Kazakhstan Region (WKR). According to him, specialists are conducting surveys and laboratory tests, and no threat of mass livestock mortality is observed.

The expert was convicted for a false conclusion in a case concerning a death in the West Kazakhstan Region.

Specialised Inter-District Criminal Court of Shymkent has passed a sentence in the case of a transnational organised group involved in the production and distribution of psychotropic substances. Eighteen individuals appeared before the court. The organiser of the laboratory received 16 years' imprisonment. The sentence has not yet entered into legal force.
