Ministry of Agriculture (MoA) has stated that it does not expect a shortage of fuels and lubricants (F&L) for carrying out major agrotechnical works, despite reports of a fuel deficit in neighbouring Russia. For agricultural producers in 2026, 800,000 tonnes of subsidised diesel fuel have been allocated, part of which has already been used during the spring field campaign.

Logistics companies have started using a route through Kazakhstan to deliver cargo from China to the Moscow region. This decision is linked to disruptions in the Russian fuel market, which have already led to an increase in the cost of road transport and changes in logistics routes.

Residents of the Mangystau and Atyrau regions had previously reported long queues at auto gas filling stations and complained about a shortage of liquefied petroleum gas. The Ministry of Energy stated that the regions are supplied with fuel in volumes exceeding the estimated demand.

Representatives of Freedom Finance have filed a motion to hold the court proceedings in the criminal case against representatives of the KazTAG news agency behind closed doors. As a basis, the company’s side stated that during the hearing, information constituting banking secrecy might be disclosed.

The company, whose beneficiary is Magauiya Turysbekov, a deputy of the Turkestan regional maslikhat, has submitted an application to the Development Bank of Kazakhstan (DBK) for financing the construction of the Hilton hotel in Shymkent. Owners of vehicles with foreign registration were issued administrative fines totalling over 2.2 billion tenge in the first five months of 2026, yet only around 0.8 billion tenge has been paid. Official imports of shisha tobacco in Kazakhstan have increased more than 12-fold over the past two years. Against this backdrop, business representatives and public activists continue to debate the current ban on smoking shisha in public catering establishments and are proposing various approaches to regulating the market.

Co-founder of the ORDA publication, Maxat Ganiyev, stated that he is not seeking a real prison sentence for the former editor-in-chief and co-founder of the publication, Gulnara Bazhkenova. According to him, the demands are related to the return of funds.
