More than 2,000 teenagers have been placed on the preventative register in Kazakhstan.

The Prosecutor General's Office of Kazakhstan is introducing a digital preventive card for minors as part of the 'Sanaly Urpaq' project. The system is designed to identify children at risk and take preventive measures before they commit offences.

A resident of Kostanay has been convicted of illegally issuing loans worth 1 billion tenge.

In Kostanay, a court has handed down a sentence in a case involving illegal microfinance activity and the legalisation of criminal proceeds. According to the investigation, a local resident issued loans secured against property without a licence, and the court sentenced him to 2 years and 8 months' imprisonment. The sentence has not yet come into legal force.

After repairs costing 5 million tenge, potholes remain at the hydro-engineering facility in Petropavlovsk.

After five days of repairs, a new section of asphalt around 50 metres long has appeared on the bridge of the Petropavlovsk hydroelectric complex. At the same time, the approaches to the structure and the main part of the road on the dam remain covered in deep potholes.

A car owner was ordered to pay 1.6 million tenge after a fire caused by a match.

A carelessly discarded match and a violation of the rules for operating a car with gas-cylinder equipment led to a fire in a car park in Astana. The court concluded that both car owners were to blame for what happened, and ordered the defendant to pay over 1.6 million tenge in material damages and court costs.

Nearly a hundred vandals have been punished in Astana for damaging property.

Since the start of 2026 in Astana, 94 people have been brought to administrative responsibility for the deliberate destruction and damage of others' property. Of these, 67 have been subjected to administrative detention, while a further 27 have received fines totalling more than 5 million tenge.

The KUIS of the Ministry of Internal Affairs has once again shifted responsibility for data on sentence deferrals to the committee of the Prosecutor General's Office.

The Committee of the Penal Enforcement System of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan (CPES MIA RK) has reiterated that it is not responsible for maintaining statistics on the deferral of serving sentences, even after the FBPC editorial office referred the matter to the General Prosecutor’s Office.

The Bureau of National Statistics has published preliminary data on Kazakhstan's foreign trade for January–February 2026. Exports rose to $12.04 billion, imports to $9.64 billion, while the structure of trade remains commodity-based and import-dependent. Russia continues to be the main trading partner.

Alatau Akimat announced a tender worth 1.7 billion tenge with a budget of 1,000 tenge for the first year.

In Alatau, a tender has been announced for the construction of road infrastructure worth 1.7 billion tenge. At the same time, only 1,000 tenge in funding has been allocated for the first year of the project's implementation. This means that the bulk of the expenditure is being deferred to the next period, and work will have to begin with minimal budget funding.

The General Prosecutor's Office Committee does not maintain data on the consequences of deferring punishment in Kazakhstan.

After a complaint from the editorial board of the FBRC, the Committee on Legal Statistics and Special Records of the General Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan revised its position and provided additional statistical data. However, key information on the consequences of deferring the serving of sentences is still missing.
