Two firefighters from fire station No. 9 (FS-9) in the city of Kurchatov, Arnur Adkenov and Yermek Sydykov, died in a road traffic accident (RTA) on the Semey–Kurchatov highway while travelling to their place of duty after an alarm was raised. Following the tragedy, their colleagues stated that there is a need to review the conditions under which the service is organised and the requirements for personnel to report for duty.

In Nepal, the search continues for two citizens of Kazakhstan following the devastating flooding and landslide, who were reportedly in the disaster zone on the border between Nepal and China.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan has proposed moving some offences related to the acquisition, storage and transportation of drugs without intent to sell from the criminal to the administrative sphere. At the same time, criminal liability for drug-related activities involving large and especially large quantities, as well as for drug trafficking, will be retained.

The volume of household deposits in banks in Kazakhstan reached 30 trillion tenge for the first time at the end of the first half of 2026. Over six months, the total amount of savings grew by 1.9 trillion tenge, or 6.7%.

A resident of the town of Taiynsha in the North Kazakhstan Region (NKR) was notified of a fine of 64,000 tenge due to grass and rubbish near her house. The woman stated that she regularly cleans the area, but after the rains the grass quickly grows back.

The Ministry of Trade and Integration continues laboratory testing of the quality of automobile petrol following complaints received from citizens. The inspection covers fuel both at the production stage and at subsequent stages of circulation up to sale to the consumer.

In the city of Lenger, Turkistan Region, police detained two residents of the Tolebi District suspected of attacking a local woman. According to police, the suspects entered the woman's home, inflicted bodily harm on her, and took her mobile phone.

Another preventative patrol took place in Astana's City Triathlon Park, during which district administration staff and police checked compliance with cleanliness and public order in the area. The patrol was organised under the "Law and Order" principle and the "Taza Qazaqstan" campaign, and is aimed at preventing offences in the park.
