A 10-year-old boy received an electric shock and fell from a height in the village of Dolinka, Karaganda region. The child is in a serious condition in the intensive care unit of the regional children's hospital.

In the 6th microdistrict of Temirtau, Karaganda Region, rescuers evacuated 13 people, including 7 children, during a fire in a five-storey residential building. The fire broke out in a flat on the first floor.

The parents of a pupil at the Nazarbayev Intellectual School (NIS) in Astana have stated that their son experienced prolonged social isolation from his classmates. According to the family, after leaving the school the teenager attempted suicide, and the materials from their appeal to law enforcement authorities have been with the prosecutor’s office since April.

A video has been circulating on social media showing several people using force against a young woman in the car park of the "Khan Shatyr" shopping centre in Astana. The police have identified those involved in the incident and stated that there are no casualties.

Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD) reminds parents and minors of the risks of online grooming and measures to protect children on the internet. The department has listed signs of dangerous communication and recommendations for safe behaviour in the digital environment.

The Ethics Council of the North Kazakhstan Region (SKO) has recommended disciplinary action against the akims of four rural districts after discrepancies were identified between the actual work completed and the project estimate documentation during the construction of cattle burial sites. An alternative to a warning of partial official non-compliance is dismissal.

In April 2026, Kazakhstan's airports maintained a positive trend in passenger traffic, with the figure increasing by 1.6% compared to the same period in 2025. Meanwhile, Uzbekistan demonstrated higher growth rates and became the leader in Central Asia with a figure of 9.1%.

18 May 2026, the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan adopted a regulatory resolution No. 79-NP concerning the pension provision for citizens of Kazakhstan who have left for permanent residence abroad. The Court indicated that residence outside the country, in itself, cannot serve as a basis for refusing to grant or for terminating pension payments to citizens of Kazakhstan.

In the city of Arys, Turkestan region, a car crashed into the fence of a private house, near which people were sitting on a bench. As a result of the incident, four people died, including two young children. Two more people sustained serious injuries and were hospitalised.

The Financial Monitoring Agency (FMA) has reported the disruption of the "CVK" project, which was positioned as a marketplace. Currently, an investigation is being conducted by the territorial departments of the FMA in 14 regions of Kazakhstan.
