In a military unit in Pavlodar, a contract serviceman fired shots from his assigned weapon, resulting in his death at the scene. Another soldier was wounded and is in intensive care in a serious but stable condition. In connection with the incident, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan has opened criminal cases, a pre-trial investigation is underway, and the circumstances of what happened are being established. The progress of the case is being monitored by the Internal Security Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

In Kazakhstan, the provisions of the Migration Policy Concept until 2030, adopted in December 2025, have been clarified. The document provides for strengthening migration control, the introduction of a scoring system for selecting foreigners from 2026, and new conditions for oralmans, including mandatory resettlement to labour-deficient regions when receiving state support.

Deputy Irina Smirnova has sent a request to the General Prosecutor's Office and the Ministry of Emergency Situations regarding the lack of systematic assembly points for the population during earthquakes in Almaty. Tax security expert Dmitry Kazantsev has assessed the impact of raising the minimum wage to 150,000 tenge on individual entrepreneurs in Kazakhstan. According to him, the increase in the minimum wage raises the tax burden on small businesses, while the real incomes of most workers may remain unchanged. The Prosecutor's Office of the Turkestan Region has uncovered instances of the illegal receipt of compulsory social health insurance funds and the fictitious provision of medical services. Cases have been identified of consultations without licences totalling 91 million tenge, and the over-reporting of dental services amounting to 203 million tenge. In respect of some episodes, the damage has been compensated and the case closed; for others, materials have been sent to court under Article 190 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
