The former editor-in-chief of the publication ORDA, Gulnar Bazhkenova, has been charged under three articles of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan: for illegal entrepreneurship, dissemination of knowingly false information, and embezzlement of entrusted property on an especially large scale.

Gulnar Bazhkenova confirmed transfers of up to 20 million tenge per month through an individual enterprise for salary payments.

Today, in the district court No. 2 of the Bostandyk district of Almaty, a trial began in the criminal case of the former editor-in-chief of ORDA, Gulnar Bazhkenova, who told journalists before the hearing that she had transferred up to 20 million tenge per month to individual entrepreneur accounts for the subsequent payment of part of the employees' salaries in cash.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs has blocked 6,000 websites containing illegal content in Kazakhstan.

The Zhetysu Region Prosecutor’s Office, through the ‘Anti-Fraud Centre’ platform of the National Bank of Kazakhstan, secured the return of 600,000 tenge to a resident of the region. Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov has responded to a request from Senate deputies regarding the expansion of financial autonomy for rural districts. The government did not support transferring part of the corporate income tax and VAT to the fourth-level budgets, but is working on transferring certain tax revenues and environmental fines. Amendments are being considered in the Mazhilis.
