КФФ обязали выплатить экс-сотруднику 50 млн тенге за досрочное увольнение

The Kazakhstan Football Federation (KFF) must pay its former chief auditor Kambar Omarov almost 50 million tenge for the early termination of his employment contract. The court recovered from the organisation wages for the entire remaining period of the contract, but refused to award additional bonuses. The decision has entered into legal force.

WHY THE EMPLOYMENT DISPUTE AROSE

According to the Telegram channel “Kozachkov offside”, Omarov had worked at the KFF since January 2025 and received about 2.5 million tenge a month.

In April 2026 he was notified of the termination of his employment contract due to staff reduction, and in May he was dismissed. The former employee did not challenge the dismissal itself, but demanded the compensation provided for by an additional agreement with the federation.

WHAT THE ADDITIONAL AGREEMENT PROVIDED FOR

The document extended the term of the employment relationship until January 2028. It also provided that, upon dismissal at the employer's initiative, the employee receives wages for all the months remaining until the end of the contract.

Omarov demanded payment of compensation for 20 months — about 50 million tenge. He additionally claimed approximately 20 million tenge in bonuses for the same period.

WHAT POSITION THE FEDERATION TOOK

The KFF did not admit the claims. Representatives of the organisation asserted that the federation had not received the additional agreement, that the document had not been registered in the state information system enbek.kz, and that the compensation provided for by it had not been approved by management.

At the same time, former KFF general secretary David Loria appeared as a witness and confirmed the lawfulness of drawing up the agreement. It was Loria who signed the document on behalf of the federation.

WHAT THE COURT DECIDED

The court partially upheld Kambar Omarov's claim and ordered the KFF to pay him almost 50 million tenge — wages for all 20 unworked months provided for by the additional agreement.

The court refused to award the additional 20 million tenge in bonuses, since it regarded them as an incentive allowance.

In addition, the federation separately sought to have the additional agreement declared invalid, but the court rejected that claim as well. The decision in the dispute has entered into legal force.

CONTEXT

Previously, another employment dispute involving a large capital-city organisation was heard by the Astana court. The appellate panel reinstated an employee of JSC “Nursultan Nazarbayev International Airport” in the position of head of the document management department, recognising her dismissal as unlawful. The employer terminated the employment contract after the employee refused a proposed position as a specialist in another department. The court established that such a change of position was in fact a transfer to another job, for which the employee's consent was required.

The appellate instance overturned the decision of the court of first instance, reinstated the employee in her previous position and recovered from the airport about 7 million tenge for six months of forced absence. A separate issue arose concerning the enforcement of the decision: lawyer Sergei Sizintsev stated that the employer had not formalised the reinstatement and had not paid the awarded funds.
