The Financial Monitoring Agency (FMA) has initiated a pre-trial investigation into the former leadership of the Kazakhstan Football Federation (KFF).
‘All investigative actions are carried out in strict accordance with the requirements of the law. Any other information, in accordance with Article 201 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, is not subject to disclosure,’ – reported the agency's press service.
Many media outlets, in turn, suggest that the investigation is being conducted into former KFF President Adilet Barmenkulov and his team.
It is worth recalling that Barmenkulov headed the federation from February 2022 to November 2024. In December, Marat Omarov took up this position. The FBRK editorial team has repeatedly written that Adilet Barmenkulov's activities as president of the KFF were regularly criticised by football fans and even raised doubts among UEFA leadership.
