A verdict has been passed in Taldykorgan for the chief accountant of the education department for the Sarkand region, Kurmangaliyeva K., accountants from the same department Muratova A. and Kalabayeva A., the head of the district office of JSC "Kazpost" Taken A., the acting head of the "Aidana" nursery-kindergarten Balgabayeva N., and the head of the desk control department of the VGADA of the Zhetysu region Zhapabayev U.
According to the press service of the Anti-Corruption Agency, Kurmangaliyeva, Kalabayeva, Muratova and Taken were found guilty of embezzling 1.6 billion tenge by transferring inflated salaries to the accounts of education department employees.
Balgabayeva and Kalabayeva were found guilty of attempting to bribe Zhapabayev. The bribe was intended in exchange for not conducting an audit at the nursery-kindergarten.
Kurmangaliyeva was sentenced to 8 years in prison. Kalabayeva, Muratova and Taken each received 7 years in prison.
Balgabayeva and Zhapabayev were sentenced to fines of 1.2 million tenge and 1 million tenge respectively.
In addition, the convicts were banned for life from holding positions in the civil service and in quasi-public sector entities.
Let us recall that the detention of the accountant of the education department for the Sarkand region became known in April last year. During the investigative actions at that time, 156 million tenge was discovered and seized from her.
