The chief accountant of a state enterprise has been convicted of embezzling 240 million tenge in the Akmola Region.

In the Zharkain district of the Akmola region, a verdict was handed down to the former chief accountant of a state enterprise for embezzlement of funds on an especially large scale. 

According to the press service of the regional prosecutor's office, she was sentenced to 6 years in prison, to be served in a medium-security correctional facility.

In addition, she was banned from holding financially responsible positions in commercial and other organisations for 7 years.

The court also granted a civil claim: damages in the amount of more than 240 million tenge were recovered from the convicted woman in favour of the enterprise.

Recall that earlier in Taldykorgan, a verdict was announced for accountants of the education department in the Sarkand district, the head of a regional branch of Kazpost JSC, the acting head of a nursery school, and the head of the desk control department of the State Revenue Department of the Zhetysu region.
