In the Turkistan region, work is being carried out using assets returned to the country to provide villages with high-quality water supply.

According to the government press service, more than 20 billion tenge was allocated from the Special State Fund for the construction and modernisation of water supply networks in the region.

Currently, construction of the Shardara group water pipeline, costing 5 billion tenge, is underway in the Turkistan region.

"From the fund's resources, 4.2 billion tenge was allocated for water supply projects in the settlements: Zhibek Zholy, Shengeldi, Ak Uy, Karatobe, Zhuantobe, Zhanadauir, Esikkorgan, Kuigan, and Aksu," the statement reads.

Work to provide water supply to rural settlements is also being carried out in the Saryagash, Kazygurt, Keles, Ordabasy, and Otyrar districts.

It is noted that previously, over 2.5 billion tenge was allocated from the Special State Fund to complete the reconstruction of the main water pipeline in the Saryagash district of the Turkistan region. It is expected that 66 villages with a population of over 260,000 people will be connected to the water supply.

Recall that in March, the government allocated around 4.2 billion tenge from the Special State Fund for the construction and modernisation of water supply systems in the Aral district of the Kyzylorda region.

In April, the government allocated 1 billion tenge from the Special State Fund to provide water supply to residents of the towns of Kosshy and Makinsk in the Akmola region.
