Over 5 billion tenge from the special fund have been allocated for water supply in the Kostanay region.

Around 5.4 billion tenge was allocated from the Special State Fund to provide residents of the Kostanay region with quality drinking water.

According to the government press service, currently in the city of Tobyl, 87.9% of the population have access to water supply services. To increase coverage to 100%, the construction of over 100 km of water supply networks has begun in the locality. For this, 1.4 billion tenge was allocated from the fund. Another 872 million tenge was allocated for the laying of a water supply in the city of Arkalyk. 

“The implementation of the project will provide drinking water to a city with a population of over 13,000 people, increasing access to water supply services from 96.5% to 100% by the end of 2025,” the statement said.

At the same time, water supply networks worth over 3 billion tenge are planned to be built in the villages of the Karabalyk, Denisovka, Kostanay, and Fedorovka districts, as well as the Beimbet Maylin district, and in the settlement of Molodezhny in the city of Arkalyk.

Overall, access to water supply services in Kostanay is 99%, and in rural areas – 90.3%.

It should be recalled that funds returned to Kazakhstan as part of the fight against the illegal removal of assets are credited to the Special State Fund, from where they are directed to social needs, including the construction of schools, hospitals, and the modernisation of infrastructure.

In January, it was reported that a sports complex worth 1.1 billion tenge is planned to be built using returned assets in the village of Zhalagash in the Kegen district of the Almaty region.

In early February, the government allocated over 1.4 billion tenge from the fund for the construction of a school in the city of Karazhal, Ulytau region. Later, it became known about the allocation of another 1.4 billion tenge for the construction of a school in the village of Koksay, Kerbulak district, Zhetysu region.

Also, from the fund, 2.6 billion tenge was allocated for the construction of a Centre for the Provision of Special Social Services in Semey. The list of funded projects included the construction of the stadium named after Kazhymukan Munaitpasov in Astana.

In early March, the government directed around 4.2 billion tenge from the Special State Fund for the construction and modernisation of water supply systems in the Aral district of the Kyzylorda region.

In April, the government decided to allocate 1 billion tenge from the Special State Fund to provide water supply for residents of the cities of Kosshy and Makinsk in the Akmola region. 

In May, the government decided to allocate 319.5 million tenge from the fund to complete the construction of two medical outpatient clinics in the Korday and Talas districts of the Zhambyl region.
