In the village of Beyneu, Beyneu District of the Mangystau Region, a man attempted to set himself on fire at the checkpoint of the local police department.
According to Lada.kz, the incident occurred after officers stopped a car during a patrol for violating the Traffic Regulations and brought the driver to administrative responsibility.
Some time later, the man himself came to the checkpoint of the police department, where he expressed dissatisfaction with the actions of the officers.
On the premises of the checkpoint, he poured a liquid over himself and attempted to set it alight, but police officers promptly prevented his actions.
The man was taken to a medical facility. A criminal case has been opened regarding the incident, a pre-trial investigation is underway, and all circumstances of what happened are being established.
