In the Kaztalovsky district of the West Kazakhstan region, a kindergarten teacher was disqualified from driving for drink-driving.
According to Cmn.kz, the man, who was driving a 'VAZ-2010', was stopped at the 41st kilometre of the Uralsk-Atyrau highway.
Ultimately, the court found the teacher guilty under Part 1 of Article 608 of the Administrative Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan ("Driving a vehicle by a driver under the influence of alcohol") and sentenced him to 15 days of administrative arrest. In addition, the offender was disqualified from driving for a period of 7 years.
At the same time, the court issued a special ruling regarding the Education Department of the Kaztalovsky district. The ruling has not yet entered into legal force.
For context, in November of last year, members of the Ethics Council recommended the dismissal of the Akim of the Kalkaman Rural District of the Pavlodar region, Tіleuғali Kendebay, for drink-driving. At the time, the Aksu City Court found the official guilty and sentenced him to 15 days of arrest, as well as disqualifying him from driving for 7 years.
In February of this year, in Astana, arrested the former Deputy Akim of Almaty, Yerzhan Babakumarov, for drink-driving. He was also given 15 days of administrative arrest and disqualified from driving for 7 years.
In early May, it was reported that in Aktobe Begarys Makhutov, the son of the chairman of the panel for civil cases of the regional court, Raziya Akhmetova, whom police had detained for drink-driving, was acquitted.
