In Almaty, the operations of a concrete plant have been temporarily suspended and it has been fined nearly 2 million tenge for violating environmental requirements. This was announced by the Deputy Head of the Almaty Ecology Department, Dinmukhamed Lesbekov, at a briefing at the Regional Communications Service (RCS).
According to MIA "Kazinform", he stated that in the first half of the year, department specialists conducted 23 inspections, including 7 preventive and 16 unscheduled ones. During the inspections, 49 violations were identified and 12 orders were issued for their rectification.
Administrative protocols were drawn up against four enterprises that ignored the orders. The materials were sent to court, which issued rulings to recover fines totalling more than 2.5 million tenge.
Separately, under Article 328, Part 4 of the Administrative Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan ("Violation of standards for permissible anthropogenic impact on the environment"), administrative materials regarding one of the concrete plants were sent to court. By court ruling, the enterprise was fined nearly 2 million tenge with a temporary suspension of operations until all violations are fully rectified.
Lesbekov also reported that another enterprise was charged a penalty of 295 thousand tenge for failing to comply with an order in a timely manner, which was fully recovered.
Overall, in the first six months of this year, the ecology department drew up 28 protocols on administrative offences and imposed 23 fines totalling more than 4.5 million tenge.
Earlier, Dinmukhamed Lesbekov reported that Kazferrostal LLP was ordered to pay an 11.4 billion tenge fine for illegally burying slag and storing scrap metal on the banks of the Malaya Almatinka River in Almaty.
