The Aksu Ferroalloy Plant, part of JSC TNK Kazchrome (Eurasian Resources Group), has been fined 854 million tenge for exceeding permissible atmospheric emissions.

According to ORDA, violations were recorded during an inspection carried out by ecologists together with the Pavlodar Region Prosecutor's Office. From January to April this year, the enterprise exceeded pollutant emission limits by 663.67 tonnes. These figures were confirmed by production environmental monitoring and tax reporting.

The plant has been held administratively liable under Article 328 of the Administrative Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan (“Violation of standards for permissible anthropogenic impact on the environment”). The fine has already been paid in full to the state budget.

We previously reported that in 2022–2024, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Kazakhstan imposed fines on a number of major oil-producing companies, including Tengizchevroil, North Caspian Operating Company N.V. (NCOC), Caspian Neft, and Mangistaumunaigas, totalling more than 61.1 billion tenge.
