Violations totalling 14.2 million tenge in salary and bonus payments have been identified at the Almaty scientific centre.

The Department of Internal State Audit of Almaty conducted an inspection of the Republican State Enterprise «National Centre for Complex Processing of Mineral Raw Materials of the Republic of Kazakhstan» following an appeal from a concerned citizen. This is an organisation under the authority of the Industrial Committee of the Ministry of Industry and Construction.

According to the press service of the Internal State Audit Committee of the Ministry of Finance, the audit was aimed at verifying the justification of salary and bonus accruals for certain employees. As a result, experts identified financial violations totalling 14.2 million tenge, related to remuneration for time not actually worked in 2024.

The total volume of assets and funds audited amounted to 188.9 million tenge. In addition to the violations in the remuneration area, auditors recorded procedural discrepancies totalling 34.4 million tenge, including:

  • absence of employment contracts with three remote employees — 3.7 million tenge;
  • exceeding the permissible working hours standard for three employees — 12.7 million tenge;
  • unjustified expenses for services related to the preparation of tender documentation for a scientific and technical programme — 18 million tenge.

Following the results of the inspection, the committee issued an official order to rectify the violations and to consider the liability of the responsible officials. The materials have been transferred to the criminal prosecution authorities, and compliance with the order is being closely monitored.

Earlier, the Aktau prosecutor's office conducted an analysis of compliance with legislation regarding salary payments at LLP «Mangystau OilRefining», which is engaged in oil processing. As it turned out, from January to March the enterprise did not pay wages to 241 employees. The total amount of debt amounted to 197 million tenge.
