Online reports are circulating that Anti-Corruption Service officers have detained the head of the Department of the Criminal Executive System (DCES) for the North Kazakhstan Region Adlet Mustafinov.
The media write that he was detained in his office on suspicion of receiving a bribe of 1 million tenge.
Meanwhile, zakon.kz reports that the Anti-Corruption Service has commented on the information regarding the arrest of the police official.
"The Anti-Corruption Service confirms that, as part of a pre-trial investigation, the head of the DCES for the North Kazakhstan Region has been detained," the statement says.
The department has promised to provide details later. It has become known that Adlet Mustafinov has held the position of head of the DCES for the North Kazakhstan Region since May 2023.
