According to the press service of Anti-Corruption, the agency is conducting a pre-trial investigation into the deputy akim and the head of a department of the akimat of one of the districts in the North Kazakhstan Region.
The officials are suspected of receiving a bribe of 10 million tenge from a businessman for signing certificates of allegedly completed work on the repair of local roads and for general patronage.
With the sanction of the investigative court, a measure of restraint in the form of detention was imposed on them.
“The investigation is ongoing. Other information, in accordance with Article 201 of the Criminal Procedure Code, is not subject to disclosure,” the statement said.
It may be recalled that earlier, the Anti-Corruption Service in Almaty exposed the deputy general director of KGP «Almaty Su» of committing a serious corruption crime.
He is suspected of receiving a bribe from a local businessman of about 75 million tenge for signing certificates of allegedly completed work and paying out funds under concluded public procurement contracts.
