In Pavlodar, police detained a local resident Mandrykin, who was found to be driving under the influence of alcohol. During the subsequent investigation, it emerged that he had already been stripped of his driving licence.

According to Ratel.kz, later at the Pavlodar Central Police Department building, Mandrykin gave investigator Dudnik 70,000 tenge to avoid being placed in a temporary detention facility (ITF).

“At that time, the Anti-Corruption Service, together with the Internal Security Department of the police department, were conducting covert investigative actions. Unfortunately, they decided not to seize the money immediately, and later it could not be found anywhere,” the report states.

Subsequently, officers from the Anti-Corruption Service and the police detained the investigator of the Central Police Department, Aryzbayev. He was accused of receiving a bribe of 80,000 tenge from the same Mandrykin for not placing him in the ITF.

Currently, law enforcement officers are carrying out investigative actions. The case has been registered under Article 366, Part 3, Paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan “Receipt of a bribe by an official by a group of persons by prior conspiracy”. No preventive measure has yet been chosen for Aryzbayev and Dudnik.

Earlier, it was reported that from January to July, 95 police officers were convicted on corruption charges. In 80% of cases, sentences were handed down to police officers under articles for “Receipt of a bribe” and “Fraud”.

For example, in October, inspector of the group for control over the circulation of civilian and service weapons of the police department of the Maktaaral district of the Turkestan region, Nursultan Aldabergenovwas convicted for repeatedly receiving bribes.

At the same time, it became known that the deputy head of the district police department of the Zhanibek district, Medet Bissakov, is suspected of fraud. It was reported that he demanded 400,000 tenge from the head of a farm, promising patronage.

In early August, the former head and inspector of the migration service department (UMC), as well as a former inspector of the Auezov district police department of the Abai region, were convicted for corruption.

According to the investigation, the head of the department received a bribe from a police officer for a transfer, acting through an intermediary – an inspector of the migration service department. The bribe amounted to $1,000.
