Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov, on the instructions of the President, introduced the new akim to the active members of the Turkestan region.
According to the government press service, a letter from Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev proposing two candidates for the position of akim of the Turkestan region was read to the deputies.
The candidates proposed for consideration were the Deputy Akim of the Turkestan region, Nuralkhan Kusherov, and the Akim of the Sozak district, Mukhit Turysbekov.
It is noted that the deputies gave 224 votes out of 288 for Kusherov. Following the meeting, by Presidential Decree, he was appointed Akim of the Turkestan region.
It has become known that in 2015-2018, Nuralkhan Kusherov worked as the Deputy Akim of Shymkent. In 2018-2021, he held the position of head of the state revenue department for Aktau and head of the state revenue department for Shymkent. In 2021-2023, he was the head of the state revenue department for the Atyrau region.
Recall that Kusherov replaced Darkhan Satybaldy in the post of akim, whom President Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev appointed as First Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration.
