The State Labour Inspectorate in Kazakhstan identified over 2,000 violations in the first quarter of 2026 and secured the protection of the rights of 17,500 workers. At the same time, the number of complaints and inspections increased.

On 23 April, a heavy downpour occurred in the city of Kentau, Turkestan Region, leading to flooding of streets, markets and the entrances to residential buildings. In some areas, water levels reached 10–25 cm. Rescue workers and municipal services were deployed to deal with the aftermath.
