Heavy rain in Kentau caused flooding of streets and residential buildings.

On 23 April, a heavy downpour occurred in the city of Kentau, Turkestan Region, leading to flooding of streets, markets and the entrances to residential buildings. In some areas, water levels reached 10–25 cm. Rescue workers and municipal services were deployed to deal with the aftermath.

Former president of JSC "Oŋtüstik Munaigaz" Andrey Shilkov has been found guilty by a court of embezzlement and misappropriation of property, tax evasion, and arbitrariness. The court sentenced him to 8 years' imprisonment and disqualified him from holding senior positions for 5 years. The issue of compensation for damages is being considered in civil proceedings.
