Kazakhstan has overtaken Russia and China in GDP per capita

According to data from the International Monetary Fund, Kazakhstan has taken the leading position in GDP per capita among the CIS countries and Central Asia, ahead of Russia and China. The figure stood at $14,770 per person in 2025. The growth is attributed to raw material exports, investment and macroeconomic stability, although in terms of the rate of increase over a longer period, a number of Transcaucasian countries show higher momentum.

In the Almaty region, on the grounds of the Shelek District Hospital, a dump of medical preparations was discovered, including waste subject to mandatory disposal. The Majilis has adopted a bill introducing amendments to the Law "On Responsible Treatment of Animals", which introduces the possibility of euthanasia, removes the priority of sterilisation, and transfers responsibility for vaccination to owners. The document also obliges local executive bodies (akimats) to respond promptly to threats posed by animals and provides for new approaches to regulating their numbers.

В Бишкеке суд признал гражданку Казахстана А.А. и гражданина Кыргызстана С.С. виновными по делу о продаже детей. По данным УКМК КР, они участвовали в незаконных действиях в отношении несовершеннолетних и распространении противоправных материалов. Суд назначил наказание — 12 и 11 лет лишения свободы с конфискацией имущества.
