A gas cylinder explosion occurred in a café in the town of Shchuchinsk, Akmola Region. Seven people died and 28 were injured. The authorities reported that a criminal case has been opened, compensation will be paid to the families of the deceased and the injured, and medical assistance and support will be provided by the akimat and the café administration.

During an audit of JSC "Centre of Electronic Finance", auditors recorded payment for services before a contract was signed, procurement from a sole supplier who had started work six months before the tender, a financial statement audit with a conflict of interest, and an incident involving the transfer of access to government servers to third parties from foreign countries. Materials relating to three episodes have been submitted to criminal prosecution authorities.

The Supreme Audit Chamber of the Republic of Kazakhstan audited the activities of JSC "Centre for Electronic Finance" for 2020–2024. Financial violations totalling 566 million tenge, inefficient use of funds amounting to 764 million tenge, and ineffective planning worth 12.7 billion tenge were identified.

In the North Kazakhstan Region, an investigation into a criminal case involving illegal business activity, self-justice with the use of violence, and fraud has been completed. According to the investigation, the suspect issued loans without a licence and earned over 1.8 billion tenge in revenue. The case has been sent to court, and the suspect remains in custody.

In Kazakhstan, new banking rules have come into force, strengthening customer protection. Behavioural supervision has been introduced, and requirements for advertising, credit transparency, and complaint handling have been updated. The law changes the way banks, MFOs, and customers interact.
