In Stepnogorsk, more than 1,500 hectares of land worth 52 million tenge were returned to state ownership. Violations in their allocation were identified during a prosecutor’s inspection.
WHAT VIOLATIONS WERE FOUND
According to the Stepnogorsk City Prosecutor’s Office, the inspection revealed gross violations of land legislation by officials of the local executive body. In particular, this concerns the allocation of land plots without holding tenders, non-compliance with competitive procedures, misuse, and unauthorised seizure of land.
At the request of the prosecutor’s office, the Department for Land Resource Management filed two lawsuits for the return of plots that were used in violation of the law.
RESPONSIBILITY OF THE AKIMAT
The inspection showed that the akimat of the city effectively failed to exercise control over the rational and targeted use of land.
Under a prosecutor’s supervision order, the deputy akim responsible for land relations was brought to disciplinary liability. His name is not specified in the materials.
CONTEXT
Earlier in the Akmola Region, violations in land distribution had already been identified. For instance, following a prosecutor’s supervision order in the Sandyktau District, lease agreements were declared invalid, and approximately 1,400 hectares of agricultural land were returned to the state.
