The Prosecutor's Office of Kostanay Region has identified unused agricultural land during an analysis of compliance with land legislation.

According to the press service of the department, in Kostanay, a land plot of 15 hectares was unjustifiably granted to an enterprise without a competitive procedure, with an estimated value of over  254 million tenge. In accordance with the supervisory act, the land plot was returned to the state.

In another case in the Zhitikara District, agricultural land covering more than 1,000 hectares, which had not been used for about 3 years, was returned to the state. The cadastral value of the plots is estimated at over 39 million tenge.

In total for the current year, prosecutors have returned 53,000 hectares of land plots to the state, with a total value of over 1.2 billion tenge.

It is worth recalling that in early September, during a government meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Serik Zhumangarin stated that this year, out of the planned 2 million hectares, 1.3 million hectares of unused or illegally allocated agricultural land had been returned to the state.

In August, it was reported that in the Aktobe Region, agricultural land plots covering 30,000 hectares were returned to state ownership.

In June, it became known that this year, prosecutors in the Almaty Region returned 155 plots of unused land covering 12,500 hectares and worth 2.5 billion tenge to state ownership.
