Information is circulating on social media about the detention of the deputy head of the Taiynsha District Police Department (DPD) of the North Kazakhstan Region (NKR), Farkhad Yesimov. He is suspected of accepting a bribe of more than 1 million tenge.
WHAT IS KNOWN ABOUT THE DETENTION
According to the Telegram channel "HALYQSTAN", citing its sources, 37-year-old Farkhad Yesimov, who held the position of deputy head of the Taiynsha DPD, was allegedly detained while handing over a bribe.
The publication clarifies that the amount of the alleged bribe exceeds 1 million tenge.
At the time of publication, there has been no official confirmation of the information from law enforcement agencies or the Anti-Corruption Service of the National Security Committee (NSC).
WHAT PUNISHMENT DOES THE LAW PRESCRIBE
If the information is confirmed, the actions may be legally assessed under Article 366 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan ("Acceptance of a bribe"). The penalty under this article provides for a fine or imprisonment for a term of up to 7 years with confiscation of property.

Earlier in Petropavlovsk, a court sentenced the former commander of the regional patrol police battalion, Arman Aiteyev. He was found guilty of receiving money from disqualified drivers in exchange for patronage and the opportunity to avoid liability for violations.
The court sentenced Aiteyev to 6 years in prison, stripped him of his rank of police lieutenant colonel, and banned him from working in the civil service for life.
